Volunteer Needs

Community Advocate Volunteers

Students Without Mothers is a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping high school students who are without their mothers help themselves by empowering them to continue their education. Students receive scholarship funds, life coaching, grief counseling, laptop computers and dormitory supplies.

We are seeking Community Advocates to volunteer to help the organization build brand awareness, increase fundraising and gain access to other resources. We are seeking volunteers who will agree to:
  • • attend a virtual volunteer training session to learn more about the organization and the students we serve, in addition to upcoming events and fundraising needs
  • • create a personal fundraising goal
  • • utilize the above to introduce those in your network to SWM and encourage them to support the organization's efforts
  • • commit to serve as an Advocate for at least a one-year period
With your help and support we can play a pivotal role in changing the life trajectories of this special group of young people, helping them to thrive for decades to come.

Silent Auction Items Collection Committee

SWM needs volunteers to secure donated items for silent auctions that we host during the year. SWM hosts several silent actions including the Silent Auction at our annual June Scholarship Awards Reception.

Items of interest include airline tickets, hotel stays, jewelry, art, electronics, certificates to spas, restaurants and more. Items can be collected throughout the year.

Contact us for more information including how to join us on a virtual presentation to learn more.

Concessions Stand Volunteers (PGA Tournament)

We are always seeking volunteers to join the SWM team working the concessions stands at the PGA Tournament. The event is typically held in August at the Eastlake Golf Club. SWM receives a portion of the concession stands proceeds based on the number of volunteers participating.
